stock airbox

alright, i built a cai, and i can't seem to get the tubing down in the fender/bumper out. how do i do this? for now i just have a filter connected to the stock hose. but tomorrow i want to go full cai. thanks in advance :pimp:

take the front bumper off so you can see the stock air resonator......it's huge. good luck.

Did you pull out ALL of the tubing? There is a ton down there. I pulled the fender lining and pulled it all out that way. Made it easier to see where the filter was going too.

I don't know if the tubing in the 3.4 is the same as the 2.4 but if you take off the fender lining there are 3 bolts holding in the tube. One sticks out of the fenderlining, one right under the headlight bracket, and a push pin type next to the windsheild washer fluid bottle.

Pending on old your car is will depend on how hard it is to remove the bolts

All i did to get it out was jack up the car, take off the wheel, pop off the fender lining, and rip the box out...broke some plastic stuff, but i got it out...no problems. :pimp:

yeah, took the wheel off, off came the liner, and damn... that thing is huge. very incompetant

I didn't take off the wheel. Just drove it up on the ramps and turned the wheel to the right

I think he's sayin he took out the washer resivoiur to get all the stock tubing out.

dumb question for ya. with a CAI system then, do you have to take the front bumper off everytime you change the filter end?? that sounds like a pain in the ass. does this sound right or am i just wacked?

no just take the screw out on the bottom of fender liner that covers the bottom of bumper and there it is.

oh, ok. i guess that doesn't sound so bad. does the liner come off pretty easily and how often does the CAI filter need to be changed on average?

if you get a true K&N then all you need to do is i would say once a year pull it out and wash it per instructions and get the oil for it and put it back in. the inner liner comes out easy.
