Hey guys, hope you can help me out. I have the 2.4L Alero, 01, and I am looking to upgrade the muffler from the HUGE peice of metal thats under there right now. I don't really have the money for a full cat back right now, so I was wondering if you could recommend me a real deep and loud muffler. I definatly dont want the typical high pitched import sound, but I do want something real loud. I was thinking magnaflow cat possibly with a magnaflow muffler with dual outlets (straight out the left side). Any comments on the volume/tone of the magnaflows? Ive been reading alot about Flowmasters but not too much about magnaflows. Thanks alot for your help guys.

do a search for mufflers. theres TONS of stuff out there. also, ppl will tell you to go for either a magnaflow OR (this is the most common) the Flowmaster 40 series.

Ok, my plan was to go with the magnaflow single in dual out, just curious about other people's experiences. The 40 Series flowmaster, it isn't tinny sounding? Thnaks a bunch for the fast replies guys.

i have a magnaflow single in and out, but not straight thru. with high flow cat and no res and 2.5 slp pipes and it sounds good.

i got a sound clip on here somewhere. i'll find it for ya.

That sounds good Oldsman. I don't got the cash for new pipes but I could pick up a high flow cat and remove the resonator with a muffler. K, last question, do you know hte model number of the cat you got? I seen a bunch on driverfx. ca but not sure what one. Just go by piping size? Thanks guys

actually i would stay with the stock cat. it gives it a deeper tone. with high flow cat it is ricey til the cat gets hot then sounds good.

I think you really have to hear it in person. It's not as quiet as you'd think from the clip.

Hey guys, I got the price for a 40 series and its 95$ CAD. I thought this was real cheap. They said the 80 series is 129$ CAD. I guess if thats what they say thats what it is but I thought they were more up around 180ish.

You guys with 40/80's out there, you know the model numbers you got, for single outlet...

Any help greatly appreciated as always.
