I just bought this 2000 Alero GS with the 3400 SFI and noticed that the tranny was slipping so I went to check the fluid and can't find the dipstick? Of course it didn't come with a Manual!

There isn't one.
There is a fill level plug on the side of the trans.

ya look for the red cap
if you look behind the throttle body and straight down you should see it.

should be next to the intake, its hard to get to. friend of mien pointed it out to me. my tranny feels as if it were slipping as well.

And I'm not sure if the tranny for the 3400 is anything like mine (getrag, it has teh cap too) but you don't check it via the red fill cap, there is a check plug on the rear of the transmission.

Ok this may be a shot in the dark, but... I thought my trans was slipping and it was all messed up. it turned out to be the EGR valve. It was clogged and nasty. put in a new one and $65 later my car ran like a champ. No more surging and RPM's revving on their own. Just a lil info, not sure if it'll help.
