Wiper Fluid Container Leaks

Jack up the car...take the tire off..then remove the fender liner & you will have easy access to the washer bottle.

i don't have the time to do it right now, maybe this weekend.

i filled the resvoir, about a month ago, and i noticed it didn't move at all. i didn't think anything of it at the time....

now yesterday, i filled it again, and noticed a line of fluid following me down the driveway as i backed out. (small hill)

what does one of those containers run.... $20?

you want a new bottle? I got one. For free with pick up! You'll have to make sure your pump isn't cracked. That's what my issue was and the extra bottle I have doesn't have a pump.

so... i never actually got around to doing this, but it seems to have gotten worse. (need refills more often, doesn't hold it well)

i'm thinking its the motor leaking.

think some epoxy and silicone to cover it will prevent further leaks, or get a new one?

also, i've noticed other posts saying the wiper sprayers tend to freeze up. think a small heater dropped down into the fluid might help that? heat it like... +20 degrees? what is wiper fluid composed of? think a small heater might cause evaporation?

Getting to the bottle....Jacking the car up, taking off the tire, then pulling back the plastic wheel liner...Alot work to me, but I try to shy away from that type of thing...LOL

I always take on the fender liner when I race and the bottle is pretty easy to get to form inside, but if I were to remove the bottle, I'd probably take off the wheel too, just for the room to pull the old bottle out.

I switch the filter, and remove the fender liner with just turning the wheels to the left ;)

dont forget to put your sensor in right side up.. or your low washer fluid light will come on when its full..

yeah, i've been in there before, trying to look at the stock air tubing... should probably remove that too.

anyone know where you can get a inline heater? or a good idea of how to make a little heater to set down in the bottle?

i'm thinking using the same idea i was going to use for the heated mirrors... just need a resistor to limit how hot it gets...

Just start using the de-icer type washer fluid, it costs about a dollar more per gallon but it won't freeze on you.

its all the ice and crap that gets into the end of the nozzle... not the fluid freezing.
