My car is auto but I see that when I start my car its automatically at 1000 rpm is that supposed to be that way ?

my cars got 58K on it and it idles at 1200 when i frist start it up, once its warmed up its around 600-800 so if theres something wrong were in the same boat its a 02 3.4L btw

I think that is pretty much normal when the car is cold because mine has always done that. But when it warms up, it should drop down.

It is normal. Every car I have ever seen does that when it is cold. As long as it drops down when it's warm, you'll be fine.

Mine was always at 1000 before I did the manifolds on cold days
Avg now is about 1200 but 1500 when it's really cold

K I never really realized it till after I put on my air/fuel gauge lol
