What color would look good on a silver car and how big of a sheet does it take to do the front headlights?

all the colors would work...but i would go with yellow to be honest. yellow on silver looks sick but its all up to your own preference.
i think the dimensions i got were something like 6 x 30 for the headlights and 12 x 25 for the tail lights

ill say this about the HID look...
HID is HID and nothing compares. The film makes a dull bulb look white and white bulb (silverstars like mine) look whiter with a tiny little hint of blue. Its kinda like turning up the sharpness on your tv. It doesnt have some magical effect that makes them HID but its definitely an improvement and looks pretty good in my opinion.

Do you just wrap your light, like saran wrap? lol
derek_ski99

no. its relatively thick..thicker than window tint. You have to apply it like window tint by wetting the surface with a mild soap/water substance and have to Squeegee the lamin x flat to get rid of bubbles. its essentially like window tinting except its not that easy with the head lights due to the different contours of the light

Yea, Im definatly new to this...um....squeegie? I dont have to actually use a squeegie do I, lol?

vinyl places will usually supply a squeegie. I'm not sure if lamin-x does. Typically, it's about the same size as a credit card. And my dad has vinyl on his car...you DO need a squeegie.

they supply a squeegie for you. your best bet would be to have a local vinyl shop or tint shop do it. its not that it is extremely difficult but it can be a pain in the arse on our headlights

According to their website, you don't have to squeegee out the air bubbles because the pvc vinyl they use is breathable and as it heats up, creases will also disappear.

well i've actually installed it personally and can attest that you do because not all the air bubbles will come out if you dont. think of it essentially like tint. you also need to do it to get it into position and laying flat

Hmm...I bet alot of people would be unpleasantly suprised that you do need one...such as me. I prolly would have waited for them to go away!!!lol

Do you guys think that i could pull off any of those colors on my Ruby Red alero??? i did a photochop and im just not sure. I definatley dont wanan do the tinted look so either the yellow or blue but i defintaly wasnt liking the yellow.

I think the blue would look cool on my Alero... What do you guys think?

the yellow would work well with the ruby red. blue would look cool on yours cavaliers60
the yellow is actually really cool i was considering it myself. only thing is i paid money to make my headlights white with the silverstars and now the film so that would be counterproductive ya know?

most people use a credit card to "squeegee" the soapy water out from under the vinyl.

I like the lamin but it is not that dark at all, when compared to the spary paint jobs i've seen, or is that just the picture?

just the picture (i had the flash on) and thats also the lighter tint. you see hardly any red at all with the smoked like i have, if you go with charcoal its black...completely black.

do you think that the tint would look good on Green? and what color would you suggest for the headlights?
derek_ski99
06-06-2006, 03:19 PM
i'd say either smoked or yellow for the headlights on a green car. tails go with smoked or charcoal

alright..sounds good...im just now starting to try and mod my car up here..the only thing ive done to it so far is just put a fart cannon on the back...id like to improve the speed a little more and also make it look damn good...what are some good ideas?
derek_ski99

try to keep this thread just about lamin-x would be one good idea. another would be to search around for what others have done.
but to be nice and answer, there are 3 body kits available, lowering springs, wheels, tint, and many engine mods: intake, throttle body, super charger, turbo charger, nitrous, headers etc...
