I know this is a moronic question ot ask, but i've always wondered..... is it possible to switch from atuo to manual transmission on a 01 2.4 4 door alero? and if so, how much would it be?

anything's possible with enough money... that a given answer... mabye someone else can clean up my response a little but i've heard of it being done with the 2.4 cavi's... and they are basically the same thing... the guy i know that did it said the hardest part was mounting the clutch pedal believe it or not... i think all the gx's came with the manual but i dunno if they have 2.4's or 2.2 ecotecs or what and if it's compatable...

actually it would be fairly easy being they did produce them. trying to find alero/GA pedal and shifter setup may be hard but should be able to get most of that stuff thru GM.

i would imagine cost would $800-$1000 for the swap. but depends on where you get parts.
