I put in an AEM short ram intake on my 2001 2.4 alero 4 door, now i need help on deciding what to do next. I want to go for the exaust but I have no idea of what kinds are the best to get. If getting an exaust isnt next, then what is? I have the money, I''m just stuck on what to get next.

go with exhaust.
for the 2.4 about the only system out there that sounds good is borla. but expensive. best bet is to have an exhaust shop do a cat back with either a flowmaster or magnaflow muffler.

is that the headers, or just the exasust?what are the pieces that I need, and where might i find these at?
sorry about that, i meant is the headers included or no? if not what are the best headers for the 2.4?

that is just from the cat back. so no header. far as best header well you have sevral choices from rksport to OBX to pacesetter. the best is stans which is a 4-2-1 header with a high flow cat but costs like $600.

a full exhaust includes the header, the muffler, *optional hi-flow cat* and all the pipes in between.
You can do like me (if you only have a little money) is get a higher flow muffler (I have a Camaro style Borla muffler) and just get the pipes and tips and have a muffler shop put it in for you. For me, it cost just under $600 in parts and labor. If you have welding experience and have the necessary tools, you can save probably about 250 smackeroos off that.

or you can save yourself like 300 by not buying your own piping. if you get aluminized, you'll be fine. just make sure that the welds are coated. and you should have a resonator if you go to 2.5". i don't have one, and i have a rasp between 4 and 6 grand when i goose it. i also noticed a loss of bottomend because of the 2.5" piping. some say 2.25" is a better idea. i'm not really sure.

How should I search for the borla muffler and cat and for the OBX headers? Should i get the caviler models?

for the cat-back system, you can't get the cavalier models, they make one for aleros and grandams. however, the headers you can get cavalier ones, you just have to reweld the o2 bung on the other side of the collector (not sure why, just the advice i've been given) and the cat is going to be a universal high flow cat. you can get them in different sizes.
you might want to check ebay for some of these items. not sure where the best prices are.

i was just lookin at a few different cavalier headers. all of them have the O2 bung on the correct side of the collector and should work just fine.
