View Full Version : Springs
I know that I am probably gonna answer my own topic but I need to know how to get the smoothest ride outta my car. I imagine it is stock springs correct? I have always heard this. Even on bag setups I heard they are not as smooth as stock. Opinions?

Lowering=rougher ride.
Have you heard the same tho? I heard of this one guy claiming he had a real smooth stock/lowered ride. He said he compressed his stock springs and then placed em back on the ride. Lowered him like 1.5-2" I cant remember exactly, but he claims smooth ride.

then he probably used lowering shackles, which are 2 bolts and 2 brackets that pull the spring together and are dangerous, the vehicle tends to bounce alot.

Intrax gives a ride similar to stock. It's a tad bit stiffer but not much.

I have the ST springs with KYB struts and it is pretty rough. Brick roads = bumpy ride.

if yo uwant a firm, semi comfy, satisfiying, and decent ride, just keep your stock struts, its what i did, it feels great on highways

Also low profile tires will give you a, "feel all the bumps ride."

yes, tires make a big difference here. My 15's with snow tires ride much smoother than my stock 16's with the summer tires, and I could safely assume that 17's and 18's have even rougher rides. (less side wall for tire flex = rougher ride)

if you really want to go with the smoothest ride while still lowering the car then pay some extra cash, get eibachs. They dont lower as much, have a stiffer but smoother ride than others. Then replace your struts with KYB's and replace your front upper strut mounts and youll be good.
