venom 400 superchip. $308 and about 25% more hp. yes they will help gas when you're not using the chip for what its made for.

O RLY?

I checked this out, the vendor does have the part listed, and says currently not available.

What this tells me is that the vendor more than likely set up his website with a list of every vehicle type/year they could think of, and just put "currently not available" on the ones that they can't make one for.

I did notice that every GM FWD V6 from 98 up says the same thing on it.

See it here (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EFBXIE/qid=1145574418/sr=1-350/ref=sr_1_350/103-9462654-3959047?%5Fencoding=UTF8&s=automotive&v=glance&n=15684181)

I have to ask do you belive everything you read?

I guess 25% more HP is 3-5 HP. I think a few guys on j-body.org tested out the venom 400 and came up with these #'s (real guys testing real products, with no biases)

It is funny that people with a programmer that changes fuel, timing, emissions, accessories can't even get a 10% gain in HP.

-----------------------------------------

as for the person who started this thread. i can imagine its hard to sift through the legit stuff, and the BS.

DHP - legit
ASE - legit (if you can find one, i wouldnt bother looking)
hptuners - heard some good things
Venom - garbage
Jet - garbage
any other "plug in module" - garbage.

also talk to intense (http://www.intense-racing.com/) does impressive stuff with gm v6's, they used to offer a little for the 3.4, not sure about now.

some people on this site have mixed reviews about intense because of problems with other cars, etc. but from what i gather, the majority of intense's customers are satisfied.

edit:

"INTENSEā„¢ Standard PCM - $99.99
Ideal for stock to slightly modded cars with induction mods, exhaust mods, smaller supercharger pulley and/or rocker arms - features removal of all speed limiters, higher shift points (~6,000 RPM)** and rev limiter (6,200 RPM) , proprietary transaxle shift behavior adjustments** including 'skip shifts', air/fuel adjustments, knock retard decay rate adjustment, cooling fan control adjustments (180°), cooling fans on at key-off for 180 seconds, elimination of Abuse Mode, Differential Scoring Protection, Supercharger Torque Management, etc."
