I am brand new to this forum. I just bought a 2002 Alero GLS Coupe, and was wondering what kind of mods to make. The headers I have found are around $800, and there does not seem to be a lot of companies that make exhaust? Also, what is the truth about cold air intakes. I though the alero already drew cold air from the outside? Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

alero tubing and resonator, do, uh, draw air from the outside

however you'd have to browse around or pull your tubing out to see how it's set up, not much air comes from the outside via the tubing

header prices can be hefty, slp and formerly Borla did exhaust systems

cold air intakes draw in cooler air of course, kits are available just browse or go to the main page and look it up here

if u have the stock foglights with all that black debris guard i reccomend u look further into opening that area up before u get a new cai because i have the cai and i personally dont think it gets enough air there and thats why the stock wraps all the way back to the top where the hood comes down

why?............they are two completely different mods......they worked WONDERFULLY together

I know what you're getting at "the DHP increases line pressure..and so does the B&M..." but they worked perfectly fine and it wasnt a super hard shift or anything, it was like between "standard mode" and "race mode" when you had the B&M in standard mode w/ the DHP...it was PERFECT

I dont understand the DHP and pro-M maf more than anything else, you dont need both, im suprised your alero didnt run like @ss.

I would say to start off with, do a custom exhaust and a Naichspeed CAI...you can read the reviews about dr. speed for yourself...

my only beef with the Dr. Speed was it did take a while before i finally got it and it does cost an awful lot of money. Other than that i was satisfied.

And opening up the area to the filter is not a genius idea because then you will also get debris and water into the filter so yeah I wouldnt suggest that

WTF?....the DHP is an ECU the pro-m is a LARGER diameter MAF sensor....thus more air flow and it's calibrated for cold-air....cai plus pro-m plus 62mm tb = TONS more intake air.....then headers...cat...exhaust = tons more exhaust....overall product= PERFORMANCE

the ECU is all electronic horsepower essentially(hence the name DIGITAL horsepower)....the pro-m is physically larger so it allows for more airflow

and the naichspeed cai is SMALLER than the dr. speed...I had both.....first the naichspeed then I got a good deal on a used dr. speed and i could literally and easily fit the naichspeed intake tube inside the dr. speed one......the dr. speed is better BUT the naichspeed is an awesome deal....just depends on how much performance you want..the dr. speed delivers more but at a higher price

I have a dr. speed stage 3 cai and I love it. Buttttttt I also ordered new spark plugs and wires from him and never received them, along with many other people who did not receive what they order. Basically he sends them to you if he feels like it. Ive called him and emailed him thousands of times wondering where my products are and I got 1 email within a 3 month span saying im sorry they were outa stock. It doesnt take 3 months to put somthing in stock. Ive reported him to the better business bureou and I suggest not buying from him if you do not want to get your money taken from you. Go naichspeed and support the site.

I understand what a CAI does and all, but is it really worth it. I mean it only adds a few extra horsepower. I mean, maybe 10 extra horsepower for a really good CAI system. Guess there must be something I'm missing.

a cai will not add 10 hp by itself, more like 1-4, but it helps get more air into the motor, making succesive mods more efficient.
