Are there any companies that make a cold air intake system for the V6 Alero's? I really want one bad, please let me know if there is.

Before you get flammed. Search is the greatest question eliminator. Chances are if you have a question, someone else has had the same question. So, search, and you'll probably find your answer. And I cheated for you since I'm a nice guy.

That should help.

Oh, and welcome!

I think intakes are over-rated. Maybe just plug up that unsightly hole coming out of the side of the UIM.

Just shoot an IM to Naich, he makes them. Do a search for Naichspeed and you'll have your answer.

for someone with a turbo on their car you would think you would know what an intake can do. i bought mine off ebay. read every detail and know what you're getting. i got a 3 piece stage 3 CAI and it sounds great, and puts your head back on the seat.

you dont catch things very easily, and just an intake wont make the car fast enough to put your head back in your seat, i know because i have one in my 3400 and it sounded a ton better and had a little more pull but not enough to put my head back into the seat

Wow i have read 2 of this guys posts and i already really dont like him. Its called sarcasm buddy. Notice how he was joking about rather leaving an open throttle body or UIM opening? How many people that have a turbo find a way to leave the UIM open and still run the turbo? Id like to see that car.

For somebody who's head gets put back on the seat with just an intake, you sure have a floppy neck. Since you're new here, you get a little slack at first, but in the future, please refrain from posting bull$hit if you wouldn't mind. All it does is give false information to others that might be gullible enough to believe it. That's not fair to them.

Also, why on earth would you want a three piece, unless you're including the filter as a piece?
Dont you know that every joint just creates more turbulence and screws up the nice smooth flow?

And not to be an ass, but please enlighten me as to what a "stage 3" CAI is? Does that mean it has an AEM sticker on it?

Wow, that whopping 2-3hp I got from my CAI when I had my Alero really snapped my neck!

Oh, and Blackjack, you must have one of those reverse flow turbo kits that uses the exhaust to spin the turbo like normal but then it flows right back through the exhaust after it has been compressed, allowing you to leave a wide open hole in your intake manifold. That is amazing!

BlackJack

hell no, it's a closed loop system, the exhaust never gets out, it just pipes it back into the intake :P

It's crazy how many people never think before they post....isn't that what the whole world of forums revolves around?

135$ for an intake? I custom made mine for a total of about maybe 80$ with the civic intake and cone filter of course and an extension that reached to the front of the car for forced air if i wanted to like at the track which i ran 15.8 whooo. theres a how to on here where i got the idea to do mine. i dont know if its still on here kuz that was over a year ago when i saw it but it shows you how with the whole stage 1 - 2 - or 3 which have nothing but appearence differences

Yeah, I had a civic intake on my GA, it looked pretty ghetto. That's why I think more people are going for complete system for $135. They don't want their car looking bad.

Blackjack, I just might have to try that closed loop system on my 180. Maybe I can get like 5 kabillion horsepower, and I will be able to beat every 50cc scooter on the island.

oh hell, I've been thinking the wrong thing all along....you guys must be talking about using the civic CAI on the 4-banger Aleros. I can't imagine for the life of me using a dinky civic intake on a V6.

u can use the civic on the v6........ u have to cut some of the fender structure to get it to fit in there though

BlackJack
04-30-2006, 02:02 PM
yes, you CAN. I still prolly wouldn't use it. I dont know why, but I think I would have a serious inferiority complex if I knowingly put something for a civic on my alero. Whether it worked or not is irrelevant.

Now putting something from a camaro or vette on the Alero wasn't so bad.
