Alright, in a couple of months I am planning on replacing all my stock speakers with Infinity Kappas. I plan on getting the 3way 6x9s, the 4x6 plates, and the tweets. I want more boom than I'm getting from my stock speakers but not so much that i blow these speakers. My cd player puts out 50x4 watts at maximum output (22or 23x4 RMS). How many watts in a four-channel amp should I get so that I can get the maximum sound quality? Also any good brands that you would recommend?

depends completely on your speakers. but since they're kappas, i'd say don't go higher than 50x4 or 75x4. audiobahn, jl audio, visonik are all good companies for amps.

 your kidding me right....lol
arent they along the same line as sorney? heh
IMO best amps are ALPINE, JL, AUDIOBAHN, and SOUNDSTREAM are all brands that i have had a good experance with, relable and last a long long time...
for the kappas, about 40-50 watts rms would be your ideal range
here are a few options...
ALPINE:

AUDIOBAHN:

and here are some other options.. a lil more affordible...
US Acoustics, i have heard some really good things about them, really stable, frum wut i hear

Kappas are power hungry and sound pretty harsh if you under power them i had both and think they sounded horrible on low power. the 6x9's can take quite a bit more power then the 4x6 plates its better to buy an amp that is too big and keep the gains down then to buy a small amp and jack them up
go for a 75x4 such as a jl 300/4, diamond audio 600.4 or a phoenix gold tantrum 600.4 or even titanium 500.4 if you have the cash for it. check sounddomain.com they are having a sale on phoenix gold right now...you wont regret buying a PG amp

visonik is a division of MA audio. they are ok amps....
with amps u dont necessarily have to buy a big name amp to get big name performance outta it.

visonik isnt just a division of MA Audio. It's almost an exact duplicate of MA Audio. up until a few months ago their websites were even EXACTLY the same, just different colors.
but in my opinion, its not bad for the money, but MA still sucks unless you get some behemoth amp and subs.

all i can say is i am very happy with my Lanzar opti amp.
i would say go with a 50x4 would be just fine. but you could go with a 75x4, just don't turn gain up as far.

Did i say you have to buy a big name??
Soundstream isnt a big name...
Neither is US Acoustics...
The kappa series are awsome sounding speakers... but they dont like a lot of power.. Infinity is known for sound quality not Spl, or power handeling... and keep in mind im talking watts RMS, not "peak".. theres a big differance...
Ma audio is entry level stuff... i know cus my buddys have some of their stuff.. they thout it was cool cus it was cheep
You get what you pay for, thats the bottem line.

No you dont allways get what you pay for... happens a lot with life, but for the most part IMO, and im MY experance, cheep junk dont last....
And most of the time when you buy a product with some history.. or that has good quality standards... you have a better chance not to be riped off, and they usually last longer, not allways, but in my experance this is the case.

ok all this talk about high priced amps for your highs I got 6.5 infinity kappas in the front and MA 6x9 in the rear and all i got powering them is a 400 watt 4 chanel Pioneer amp that i got at Best Buy for 199.99 Canadian that is more then enough power for them....

well i have Boston 4x6 plates and 6x9. and running 75 watts RMS x4. sounds great and holds the power. but remember to cut-off lows at least 120hz. nothing lower. 4x6 can't really handle 80hz and below. this is what blows them easily.

Audiobahn sucks, specs are way over-rated.
