yup, normal. I have the NaichSpeed CAI, and some newb "import-guy" (politically correct term?) asked me if I had a turbo.

haha. That was funny. and only. because I have the same one.

If I had known about this site when I got it, I would have gotten it here.

while Im on the topic, does anyone know if you need a bypass valve?

I have a friend who is saying yes definately get one, and i have a friend that helped me install it and he says its in no danger of sucking up water, so dont worry about it. because of the plastic rock guard thingy above the tire. looks like it keeps all of the water out of there.

not that I plan on taking it out and going puddle jumping or anything, just curious.

its a personal choice if yo uwant a bypass valve. if it rains alot and you have bad weather from time to time, then get one. if its always sunny and hardly rains hard, then your good.

its perfectly fine for you air filter to suck in water, as long as its not completly submerged in water, large puddles can do this

also if you want the intake whistle louder to a TB coolant bypass. i love it..... no more hot TB and the UIM isnt as hot as it used to be.

FYI, that last part isn't recommended if you experience freezing temperatures on a regular basis. (ie: Buffalo in the winter). But seeing that you're in MD, go for it. (you'll keep the air cold too!)

TB = throttle body

UIM = upper intake manifold.

for this your gonna have to drain yoru coolant, and take off your coolant rail and TB. and either plug the wholes up that the coolant lines go to the throttle body, or create a loop. as long as coolant isnt going into the bottom of the throttle body, your good, i did this a long time ago, and not only is it a louder whistle at shifts, you can hear it sucking 24/7 :cool:

the TB is the part that you stick your air intake on. when you look into it, you'll see the butterfly valve.
