ok i just got off the phone with a gm dealer who has heard of the gm reflash, but one of the techs seems to think that the tech 2 isnt compatible to be reprogramed, and that i need to get a downloaded program, whatever that means, they said hypertech came out with one, but i thought if i got the 2 bar map, that it was all set to be reprogramed with just that.??

help? anyone...

Not sure on the First Question and the Hypertech programmer is gonna be somewhere around 800 dollars, there is a thread about it somewhere.

the dealers are equipped to handle everything, don't let them bullpoop you. Just it's just a recalibration to the pcm that is rarely done as it is from gmperformance parts and goes with the gmsupercharger typically...

your stock 2.4L motor comes with a 1bar map sensor. This 1 bar map putting it simply cannot understand what the hell boost looks like, acts like, or deals like. It's calibrated for N/A. A 2 bar map is setup to deal what a 1 bar map sensor sees as well as boost, up to 14.7 or so lbs.

14.7psi = 2 bar

think standard converted to metric.

with GM it does not surprise me at all. i would check to see what a MSD 2 bar MAP sensor costs.

They just don't want anything done to your car. OEM everything, even tires :rolleyes:
